About Us
"WHAT A LOVELY NAME"....
The name Plum and Ivory came to me one morning out of nowhere… I love the rich, gorgeous colour of plums and Ivory is a family name… but why my subconscious put them together at 5 o'clock one morning back in 2006 I still don't know… but we think, and have kindly been told on many occassions, that it works really well.
HOW WE STARTED...
Over the years people have often commented on things that both Carole and I are wearing, using, have found or given as gifts, so when I needed a break from corporate life in Mayfair, we thought we would try and use that "je ne sais quoi" to buy for our own on-line shop...and more recently to design our own ranges.
The idea is to provide a range of fantastic presents and special things that you would love to have yourself and would also be delighted to give to your family and friends as gifts, but without having to spend hours searching for them. There is something for everyone and every budget.
We carefully select unusual, practical and luxurious products, that are realistically and affordably priced and where possible, try to source goods that are made by small businesses/cottage industries, as well as products based on natural ingredients and traditional crafts.
WHERE WE ARE GOING...
We are still very excited about what we are doing and offering online and try really hard to find different things that we hope you will love as much as we do.
In this vain, we are also now designing our own cashmere accessory range and working on a few other idea too now the creative juices are flowing...so watch this space!
